Our Vision
A world where every stroke survivor and caregiver is empowered, supported, and never alone.
Delaware currently has the highest stroke mortality rate compared to other states.
We also have the largest aging population.
That’s why at Shine A Light On Stroke, we feel extremely compelled to educate our neighbors. We hope to lessen the number of strokes that occur in our community and build a healthier future for all.
Our Goals
Provide 3 in person support groups throughout the State of Delaware: Wilmington, Dover, and Sussex County
Host an event in Sussex County
Offer gatherings focused on the mental health of stroke caregivers
Host a Free Health Fair in Wilmington, DE including stroke screenings, education, and resources at an accessible location for the homeless
Host a conference for the stroke community (survivors, caregivers, and health care professionals), with a focus on cognitive fatigue and brain fog and return to work post stroke
